Life in Darkness works upstream — building capacity before collapse. It does not provide clinical diagnosis, treatment, or crisis response; people in acute crisis are routed to 988.

Structured formation pathways — capacity, readiness, and deposits made before the withdrawal comes.
Law enforcement and fire service under one dual-badge architecture — formation for both founding Canyon Lake public safety agencies, from line personnel to command.
The founding youth cohort in Canyon Lake, beginning Fall 2026: three age bands (10–12, 13–15, 16–17), twelve participants per band — identity, capacity, and courage built early.
Formation for the households that carry the weight — families, survivors, and veterans building the capacity to sustain themselves under pressure.

The Emotional Portfolio™ measures five capacities. Not personality. Not diagnosis. Not whether someone is broken. Capacity — the amount of load a person can carry before it costs them something, and how fast they come back.
Five scores. One person. Taken at entry, taken again over a career, and never averaged into a crowd.
The Emotional Portfolio is a formation instrument. It is not a clinical diagnostic, not a psychological evaluation, not a fitness-for-duty determination, and it is not used in hiring, promotion, discipline, or assignment. Individual results belong to the individual. What a department receives is aggregate movement, never a name.
